Here is Jacqui & Drew from an Easter weekend engagement session in Battery Park in NYC. The day was perfect and Jacqui was extraordinarily radiant! I thoroughly enjoy exploring one chosen area and developing a series of images that capture both the essence and atmosphere of the location as a perfect compliment for the chemistry between the couple. In this case, both didn’t disappoint. We were treated to a stunning skyline along with full bloom tulips and cherry blossoms. The kicker was the Wall Street subway stations images at the end. Enjoy!!
Here’s Lindsey and David showing us how lawyers and doctors do a wedding at The Mandarin Oriental in Miami. Pay attention to the ketubah signing photo – it pretty much sums up the whole evening’s personality. It’s close, but I can say I never seen a bride so visibly and unshakably exuberant about marrying her man. Lindsey is a ball of joyful energy who makes it very easy to like her. David’s a lucky man. My team and I were also for being able to join in and capture the excitement. Brittany Peitsmeyer with Forever Events and her team designed and took care of details from top to bottom with J. Miguel Torres of Blooms, Inc. Ray Roman (with Ed Ballart at his side) joined in for video detail. Lindsey and David: you two are a beautiful couple and beautiful people and I hope we stay friends for a long time!! Enjoy!
Here is Heidi and Jacob. Two die hard New Yorkers who wanted a taste of the Florida sunshine for their engagement session. I decided then to take them to Naples to experience one of our stunning sunsets. Mother nature performed as expected and these were given a real treat. Enjoy!
The connection with your photographer is one of the most important parts of preparing for your wedding. At JSPStudio, it starts with our first meeting, but it continues with our Editorial Engagement Sessions.
Weddings Illustrated featured me in their most recent Weddings Illustrated Expert Chat to discuss all things Engagement.
Here are some selects from Planner Susan Jaffe’s Susan Jaffe, of Pieces of Dreams Weddings & Events, daughter Shira Shira and her fiancé Alex from their engagement session at The Viceroy Hotel Viceroy Miami. I felt so privileged to have been asked by them to do this and the wedding. Susan and I go way back so the opportunity to capture the kind of timeless images of her daughter that she has provided for countless other brides was one I would never in a million years pass up! Enjoy!
Planner Breck Bouchard of The Bond Group and I recently had the opportunity to shoot a wedding proposal in Paris for a private client. As this wrapped we sat in a Parisian bistro discussing the diversity and romance that Paris has to offer. So never being ones to let a creative opportunity pass by, we decided to orchestrate an engagement session that encompassed all of these wonderful qualities but through the eyes of Parisians. . With less than 48 hours left in our stay we came up with a concept, a plan and both went to work to bring it all together. I scoured the city for the perfect locations and concepts. Breck contacted colleges in Paris and back home and we began interviewing couples. Our goal was to show a Parisian couple…in love, in their city. We wanted to capture iconic scenes of Paris but at the same time showcase the love and playfulness of how a native Parisian couple live their lives. We found the perfect couple, Loic & Fredo. Here’s a few.
Here’s a couple from Trang & Jeff’s wedding yesterday in Kansas City. The weather was absolute perfection and Trang was a stunning bride. All I can say right now is that these two define understated elegance and belong together. Big shout out to the sisters…way to keep the party going!
One year ago while shooting a wedding in the Bahamas, a guest, at the reception, asked me to photograph his proposal the next day. Being it was so beautifully impromptu, i couldn’t resist and we planned a meeting place. Today I have the thrill of shooting the wedding in Kansas City. So much of what we do is programmed and anticipated. To be be part of an organic collaboration from the very beginning is beyond exciting. I seriously feed off this kind of stuff!!
