Danielle & Andy’s Wedding at the Ritz Carlton South Beach

I met Danielle & Andy through planner Linzi Etzion of Linzi Events (www.linzievents.com). At their request, we did their engagement session in downtown Miami and used the observation deck in their high rise so it definitely yielded some dramatic images! Additionally I took them to Virginia Key State Park in Key Biscayne to add in a little nature. Oh, of course, we really got to bond (especially with their rescue).
Their rehearsal dinner was at Villa Azur on South Beach, a beautiful French/Mediterranean restaurant set in a garden courtyard atmosphere. With Andy’s background uniquely varied, (roots in Egypt, Haiti, and France) the room was a cornucopia of personalities. It was additionally great to see all of their collage friends reunited and pick up right where they left off.
The wedding day festivities unfolded at the beautiful Ritz Carlton South Beach with Cleo Jorge (www.cleojorge.com) making sure Danielle’s makeup and hair looked stunning. Jose Graterol (www.josedesigns.com) did his customarily beautiful job of decor while Ross Bielejeski of Rock With U (www.rockwithu.com) once again kept them partying to the very end. Ruben Senderey’s crew handled video capture. Enjoy!

One thing I love about the Ritz-Carlton is it’s versatility. Check out Caroline & Michael’s wedding there with it’s World of Warcraft theme!

And you can’t miss the time the South Beach staff helped me coordinate a huge surprise marriage proposal! Video and photos included!

Amira & Patrick’s Wedding at The Plaza in NYC

Welcome Amira & Patrick to the JSP family alumni! I received an email from Laura Wang at The Plaza asking if I could meet a bride from NYC who was coming to Fla. We connected and bam! We both know it was a perfect match. We started out at the “compound” (Amira’s home) then headed to a small NJ church for the ceremony. After we all piled onto a party bus and hit central park for some evening portraits. The reception got kicked off by a Lebanese dance troop wielding swords and drums.  Many thanks Amira for the fantastic weekend and special thanks to Candice from Ever Swoon  for all your hard work and coordination!

Heidi & Jacob at the Beautiful Sundy House in Delray Beach, Florida

Heidi & Jacob hail from NYC and made the effort to bring themselves, their families and closest friends down for an intimate gathering at the Sundy House in Delray Beach, Florida.  I met them in NYC and we shared the same sense of art and style. They gave me free reign to create an engagement session for them that I felt would capture their core (see for yourself: Heidi & Jacob’s Naples Engagement Session) The are a truly unique and sweet couple that show us what devotion and respect look like on a daily basis. Here’s a few to enjoy!

I love the Sundy House – so much so that the stunning Jacqui Ohh and I did something a bit less…”pretty” there. Check THAT out.

This venue is amazing for editorial, weddings and engagement sessions. Take a look at Tina & Andre’s engagement session there, or Samantha & Shaun’s wedding!

JSP Studio: True Organic Captures

When it comes to wedding photos, every couple is seeking the same thing: something to hold in their hands that truly expresses their love in that moment. Oftentimes, capturing THOSE moments means snapping candids throughout the night and hoping for magic.
Potential clients have asked me, “How are you able to shoot so many emotional, candid photographs at every wedding?” and the truth is: know your couple.
True organic captures is about skill not luck. It has everything to do with getting to know your subjects and understanding their unique chemistry. I cannot stress enough that here at JSP Studio, my business is 100% about truly knowing my clients. Meals together, multiple sessions before the big day, phone calls, Skype sessions, even flying to meet them…it all culminates into intimate, emotionally-charged keepsakes.
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of documenting Joui & Jimmy’s wedding. They are one of those couples who’s chemistry transcends the norm. To understand them was to know how and when they embrace, and in knowing that when they do, its hard for them to let go. The first picture shows that even after their first kiss as husband and wife, and all around families congratulate, they only want to soak in the moment with each other. The first picture shows, in an act of unbounded spontaneity during the middle of the ceremony, Jimmy just layed one on Joui! Knowing this couple meant to expect THIS because that’s just the way they are. The second picture shows that even after their first kiss as husband and wife, and all around families congratulate, they only want to soak in the moment with each other.
When you know your clients, you know exactly when to shoot.
