One of the great joys of my job is when I get to see how the families grow, and recognize that while some things change, other just will always be the same. On the left is the princess herself, (best known as Punchys) overseeing her brother David’s recent Bar Mitzvah. The one on the right is her two years earlier rooting for her other brother, Andres. Still is, and always will be, the center of attention!
No more teasers….here it is…the full blown, low down on Robert Saltz’s urban, hip hop, graffiti laden city scene, themed Bar Mitzvah at The La Concha Resort in Puerto Rico. The Saltz Family led the charge in this tour de force weekend. ! Simply put, the event went from first gear to fifth gear and stayed there the entire weekend. A few images from the welcome dinner and the brunch and then the reception takes over. I experienced a taste of how they do it in Puerto Rico and have to say, I’m going back! Enjoy!
Andres Birnbaum (better known as Luly) officially became a man on Sept 3rd. His Bar Mitzvah was held at Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center and his mom (@Nathalie Szemere Birnbaum) and dad couldn’t be prouder!! I can’t say enough great things about Luly and his family. I’m lucky to have clients like these and was thrilled to be able to capture this monumental time is Luly’s life. The event was spectacularly produced by the awe inspiring Lisi Korn Oksemberg of Forever Events – Premier Wedding & Event Planning who’s clever use of light bulbs really gave this event its sparkle! Enjoy!
Andres’s mitzvah theme is rock-n-roll. With his guitar, just the right amount of attitude, a set of groupies and an awesome location, we turned him into a rock star.
For Alexandra’s Bat Mitzvah, she and her mom wanted to have all the designers represented in both the portrait session and the event. Tall order for most….but not I! We set out to compose and mimic the ad campaigns for each of the requested designers. Can you pick who is who? Btw, the whole shoot was done on an abandoned golf course in Boca Raton.
This is Bar Mitzvah boy Sammy Robins. Since we received special permission to shoot in LIV nightclub at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, we decided to do his whole portrait session on the grounds. Sammy stepped up an brought the personality needed to make each scene work!
This is Ari Grosfeld. For her Bat Mitzvah portraits, Ari couldn’t decide if she is a fashion model or sports star; so she decided to be both! I loved the idea. This high gloss style of lighting seemed only appropriate for her decor shots so we went to town. Ari was the perfect model! Using the golf course behind her house, and with a storm looming overhead, we set up our lights and created these. Below that are the Bat Mitzvah picsat the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 . The incomparable Julie Tonkin Cohen , Jeff Gold from Zazz Productions and Jim Dalsimer and David Dalsimer from Dalsimer Atlas Florists and Event Decorators were all on hand! Much more to come!
