Say Hello to Liza & Adi from NYC. The wedding weekend started off with the rehearsal dinner on Friday night at The Raleigh Hotel in South Beach, where the guest got their chance to eloquently roast the couple. I always enjoy shooting this part of the wedding since it give me a real feel for their friends and family and allow me to become part of the wedding day dynamic. They decided to have their wedding at the picturesque Fisher Island Resort in Miami. Things started off with a 50/50 chance of rain but luck was with us and the day held out to give us the most perfect lighting any photographer could ask for. Getting ready shots were are the W South Beach with first look and family portraits at Fisher Island. Liza looked Vogue worthy in her Alon Livne designed wedding dress. Planner Guerdy Abraira created a beautiful ceremony enclave underneath the great banyan tree in the center courtyard, along with an all white theme for the reception. The evening ended with an after party where the guests enjoyed Momofuko Milk Bar treats! Enjoy.
Here’s a few from Heather & Sean’s wedding at the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove in Miami. Andi Dyal, and her team, of Anje Soirees, took the planning duties and produced a flawless day of memories for the bride and groom. We started off with a vape session in the bridal suite while Fresh Beauty Studio did the makeup and hair for the bridal party. Sean and his groomsman spent their time modeling their designer socks. The ceremony was held at the opulent Church of the Epiphany where Heather’s father proudly walked his daughter down the isle. Since Heather & Sean lived near the church, we headed over to their house to take advantage of the beautiful scenery to complete their portraits. Complete Music DJ’s kicked off the reception with powerful introductions and gave us the newlywed’s electric first dance. The clean, elegant, soft and romantic décor, and lighting was designed by the team at Always Flowers. The dance floor was then taken over by the wide variety of personalities invited to celebrate, most notably, Sean’s grandmother who, for the most part, owned the dance floor! Enjoy!
Here’s a few from the engagement session of Ashley & Ben. We used the North Beach Village grouping of boutique hotels and gallery in Ft. Lauderdale. A very charming location for a uniquely charming and passionate couple. Thank you Melissa Andrews for the fab makeup and hair. Enjoy!
Thank you Boho Daydreams for publishing Elyse & Alan’s Cartagena Wedding!
Here are Jeanne and Sathya who were married at The Edition Miami Beach in front all their friends and family from Philadelphia and beyond. The décor was beautifully crafted by Petal Productions and Nuage Designs. Hair and makeup by Celina Beach. AA musicians handled the ceremony music. All the custom cigar boxes and specially make cigars were provided by the grooms family, the owners of Ashton Cigars. Many special thanks once again to the amazing Jamie Lipman of The Absolute Event and her staff for making my job so easy. Enjoy!
Brittany and Conrad. I met Brittany a little over 3 years ago at a wedding at Grove Isle where she was managing the RockwithU team. She didn’t know me but without hesitation gave me the chipmunk pose (inside joke). We’ve been friends ever since. I was thrilled when she asked me to shoot her wedding at The Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort. Like everyone else that gets to know her, only finds a warm, caring , sincere and generous person. On one weekend I spent on the Jersey Shore with her family, the door was opened to the very unique and unrepentantly charming world she’s from and I was hooked. They’re my kinda crazy. Conrad is a perfect compliment to Brittany in every way. Like Brittany, you’re disarmed by his humble charm, and take an instant like to him. I was overjoyed to be part of a wedding whose dynamic is at its core original, loyal and fun. And there’s no shortage of talent on the bench. The bridal party, those chosen few asked to stand and represent, well, did just that. And how. I would shoot this wedding again, just to hang out with all of them. Many thanks to Emily Doresette of Izzy Designs for coordination duties, The Event Group for décor, along with Atlas Rentals. Timeline video for how easy they were to work with! And of course, the headliners, the show stoppers, the originators of the fusion concept – RockwithU. Ross and Slim left it all on the dance floor for their friend and co-worker. The stage production was some of the best you’ll see at a wedding. Thanks guys for making my pictures look fantastic! Enjoy!
Elyse and Alan were married on top the old wall surrounding the city of Cartagena in view of over 300 of their closest friends and family. After the ceremony, a horse and carriage then proceeded to take us down the old streets, where we stopped to take their portraits and let the old world envelop up. The reception was held at the historic Casa 1537 where the garden decor and concert level light show, and music stage, made the colonial era building both beautiful and electric! The weekend started off at an exclusive beach home on the outskirts of the city where all the guests were treated to local fare, drinks, live music, fresh caught lobster and seafood. Elyse’s makeup was done beautifully by Ashley Mandy, who was flown in from Miami. Elyse’s stunning dress was a Zuhair Murad. The decor was created and Mynt Flowers and the lighting and staging were created and built by Playa Productions. Thanks to Colombian planner Sary Chaki for being so amazing! And of course, thank you Elyse for asking me to document this outstanding, energetic, and magnificent weekend!!
What can I say about Ali “The Face” Wender and Keith “The Teeth” Heller? That I can write nicknames for them in this blog post and know they’ll be cracking up as they’re reading this! They’re just as cool and hip as they come. The whole weekend, from rehearsal dinner to wedding was a genuine joy to shoot and participate in. It makes such a difference when the people I spend an entire day with have qualities I admire and respect. Guru planner Sara Lowell of Sara Renee Events used her unique charms to oversee the weekend to its explosive afterparty which, Ali described as “when the wheels came off”. Take special notice of the Emoji pillows and emoji cookies. Many thanks to Rachelle at Beauty Boutique 54 for allowing Ali to be naturally alluring and elegant. Jonathan Buick of Xquisite Events beautifully transformed Turnberry Isle into an indoor chic rustic garden. Love working with Ruben Senderey of Senderey Video anytime I can. And of course, the main event, the crew themselves, RockwithU and Slim keeping the floor packed and the guests pumped. Enjoy!
Barry & Amy went to the same elementary school. Being a few grades apart, they didn’t really spend a lot of time together, however fate had a different plan for them. Fast forward to Jan 2nd. Beautiful Amy is escorted down the isle at Beth David in Miami by her proud and adoring mother to the beaming and elated Barry. They both, in their customarily casual and easygoing fashion, enjoy the ceremony with passionate stares, belly laughs and a discernible air of complete contentment. This is them. The reception was a The Dupont Building where The Debbie Taylor Band took the reigns and had every guest on their feet and on the dance floor for the introductions and hora. What a sight. Thanks to Mayrelis Feblis and her team from The Elite Planning Firm for taking charge from day one and ensuring this all went off without a hitch. Beautiful decor and lighting by Avant Gardens. Desserts by Earth & Sugar, video by the tried & true Senderey Films, and makeup by Makeup & The City. Catering by Bill Hansen. Enjoy!
